The Blindfold Was Year One. This Is Year Ten.
Adhi Yogi — the Young Master. The last stage of the Young Yogi Path, for children who have finished the Challenge and the year of Hanuman Yoga. Fewer children reach it than begin it, and that is the point: this is where a practice stops being a programme and becomes how someone lives.
In the Line of the First Yogi
The tradition holds that yoga had one first teacher — the Adhi Yogi — who gave the science of inner mastery to seven students on the banks of the Kantisarovar. Those seven carried it outward. Every guru since has been a link in that chain, including the one teaching your child.
The programme carries the name for one reason. A student who reaches this stage is no longer receiving the practice. They are old enough, and practised enough, to be trusted with passing it on — first to a younger sibling, later to whoever asks.
What a Young Master Carries
By this stage a parent stops noticing the practice and starts noticing the person.
Mastery of Attention
Sitting down to work no longer requires a negotiation first.
The Steady Interior
Exams, competition, criticism. The weather still changes. The child stops changing with it.
A Trained Intuition
Years of practice mean the inner sense is consulted the way most people consult their eyes — without deciding to.
Self-Command
A will that answers to the child rather than the mood — at the age when moods usually win.
The Practice for Life
A complete personal sadhana they can run alone, for the rest of their life, without a teacher in the room.
The Lamp Itself
They demonstrate at events, steady the younger children, and answer the questions they once asked. The chain moves one link.
